Excellent! A must read for anyone raised Catholic and for those who know and love Catholics! Shannyn raises some great guestions and has a wonderful writing style. It's as if you are sitting across a table sharing a meal with a close friend as she shares her life in these pages. I also felt like I walked down memory lane..some memories good, but also painful and confusing. This book was SO.good! I learned some really cool things about a person being raised catholic which will be great in my relationships with my friends who are Catholic!! (I really did think they were not "doing it right"). Thank you for this non judge-y book. It's a treasure.
I loved this book! Shannyn's mix of her own journey, her family's history and honest questions about faith makes this book unfold in a beautiful way. Whether you are Catholic, Protestant or somewhere in between, you will love this book!
I love learning more about my dear friend from her raw & real books, she shares from her heart!
I wish I had this book over 30 years ago, I could have used her love & inspiration as a young mom questioning her spiritual journey and as a Catholic.

I was raised Protestant but have many Catholic friends and relatives. Raised Catholic addresses many of the traditions I often witnessed but never understood. This a great read to build understanding amongst people of all denominations and faiths.
I loved Shannyn's book as I'm raised Catholic from birth but I have doubts & struggles. I'm now 75 yr. old. In the 1980's my wife & I were involved in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. We attended Prayer Meetings, Attended Life in the Spirit Seminar and were prayed with for Baptism of the Spirit in March 1982. This was the HIGHEST point in my life. After this we attended many Full Gospel Meetings and Charismatic seminars. In about 1990 the prayer meetings died off here in Battle Creek. I still miss them deeply. Shannyn's faith walk brings back my faith struggles My beliefs in many ways are like her beliefs I read her book once and will read it again. I also read her other book of her struggles with life after her parents were BOTH killed in a TORNADO..
