Who would have thought that a book plausible to Jane Austin fans could make Kitty Bennet a sympathetic heroine? Yet here is Kitty, growing up, and both deeper and nicer than we would have thought from where Jane Austin left off. Although the process of Kitty's (redemption? growth, anyway) starts in the preceding book, one of the nice things about this series is that each book stands on its own. While time passes, and if you plan to read them all you will likely want to do it in order, each story has a complete plot and a satisfying ending.Here Kitty confides to her diary that she is ashamed of past flighty behavior, and sets out to do good things for her sisters Mary & Jane. She wrestles with her impulsiveness (not always totally successfully), and shows herself as a generous and considerate person. She even focuses on helping Mary find a beau to the point where she is not thinking of finding one herself - although she does. Wonderful story, I hope there are more in this series, although we are running out of secondary Austin characters to portray.

I enjoyed reading this, the last novel in the Pride and Prejudice Chronicles. We finally get to see all of the Banner sisters married off. There is the usual and expected drama and problems that go with people trying to maintain respectability by not saying what they are really thinking. But, this is still a good conclusion to the story of the Banner sisters and we'll worth reading.
I read all three of Anna Elliott's sequels to Pride and Prejudice and this is definitely my favorite. As with the second book the characters were so well written that I felt like I knew and understood them well. The story was complex enough to really hold my interest. But the best part was the relationship between Kitty and Lance. In the first two books the romances were not entirely believable and not fully brought together in the end. I don't like smutty sex scenes but I like a believable romantic coming together of two people. This book really fully developed the romantic relationships...all of them. It was a very satisfying and charming read. I am only sad that this is the last of that series.
Kitty Bennet was one of my least favorite characters in "Pride and Prejudice." Lydia only was more disliked. At least Mr. Collins had some entertainment value, although not as much as Mr. Bennet seemed to think.
I read "Georgiana Darcy's Diary" and then "Pemberley to Waterloo" and loved them both. I had qualms about "Kitty Bennet's Diary" because Kitty surfaces in "Pemberley to Waterloo" and I felt more than the old irritation with her. I wanted to hit her with a cricket bat. Hard. More than once.
I started "Kitty Bennet's Diary" anyway. Kitty shows growth, depth, common-sense, and has a wicked sense of humor. I don't know what Jane would think about Anna Elliott, and I don't care, because I LIKE Kitty and "Kitty Bennet's Diary" is beautifully-written. I'm reading "Margaret Dsshwood's Diary" next, and I'm greatly looking forward to it. I hope she writes more in the Pride and Prejudice Chronicles series; however, I'm also hoping she doesn't do Lydia Bennet's Diary! I think Lydia is irredeemable.
I have read all of these volumes and this one was my least favorite, but not because it wasn't a good novel. After reading the first two novels in Georgina's words I found that I missed her outlook on life when I began to read Kitty Bennett's diary. Kitty's tone of voice was a lot different to Georgiana's and this was the main reason that this was my least favorite of the series.
However, overall I enjoyed Kitty's story. She went through a lot during the battle of Waterloo and the reader witnessed this in volume two. Yet until volume three the the reader was not wholly aware of quite the effect it had on her. Kitty has done a complete 180 degrees to the Kitty Bennett of Austen's creation. She has become a much more caring and compassionate person and, aside from her morose attitude to life, I much prefer this new Kitty. Luckily though the perfect man comes along to help Kitty out of her decline. The author has done a great job in writing their love story, as both Lance and Kitty have to forgive themselves for certain things before they can truly become happy together.
I had hoped that another volume was to come but considering that Mary's story also ended well I am doubtful that there will be one. Overall though I am very happy how things worked out for the sisters. Poor Lydia though-although she was a silly girl nobody deserves to end up with Wickham for a husband.
A newly somber Kitty, suffering from both personal regrets and nightmares of Brussels after the battle of Waterloo, has resolved to keep a diary and become a better person. She is determined to help her somber sister Mary find a husband, and to personally avoid the foolishness of love at all costs. I really enjoyed this book. It felt like a comfortable return to the world of Pride and Prejudice, with familiar characters, the world of class, manners, balls and social requirements. There's drama caused by misunderstanding and jealousy, and the return of a truly shallow and reprehensible rake. My favorite part of this novel was watching Kitty forget about herself and just BE herself. Kitty shines here, shrugging off her foolish and scandalous past behavior and letting her kind heart lead her actions. I loved seeing the sweet, funny, nutty scenarios Kitty keeps finding herself in, and of course that's when Lance turns up as well, seeing Kitty for who she truly is. The scenarios may have been improbable and unlikely but this book was always delightful!
